Obviously, blogging has not been my top priority in the past few….years.
My first blog was introducing my very first dog, Casey Jones.
I was very nervous as I had never owned a dog before and didn't really "get" them.
I had always been a cat person.
So we are coming up on 5 years of co habitation and it's been the best!!
I love my Casey Jones and I'm pretty sure he feels the same about me.
Especially when I have a treat in my hand or am petting him or walking him.
He is still crap at posing for pictures though.
Or I'm crap at capturing him in the perfect moment.
My only other blog post was showing a lovely scene of the place I used to work.
I would often hint at wanting a change and always meant wanting a new job.
I don't think I ever actually said so out loud though.
The people I worked for were like family in many ways, which made leaving hard.
When my dream job became available (about 6 months ago) believe me I made the change.
Love my new job. The people are great, the hours are great, the expectations are great.
I guess every job has one downfall and the only one I can think of is its about a 35 minute drive.
I love that in the spring, fall and summer.
Pretty worried about the winter.
One of my main passions is knitting. Hence the name of this blog. I may post a bunch of knitting projects but I'm hoping to talk more about day to day things and not concentrate on just one thing. I also love to cook healthy foods and hope to share some of that.
Here is a pair of mittens I'm working on right now. A Christmas gift for someone I'm sure!!
Having weekends off is a pretty new experience for me. I'm 52 now and all of my working life I've worked Saturdays.
No more:)
All summer my friend Carol and I would go to the local market Saturday mornings. It's over now for the winter but going for groceries nice and early has taken root.
I've taken a break from the kitchen for a wee while to write this blog post but I'm spending a large portion of my day making recipes for dinners and lunches for the week.
I'm currently a Weight Watcher so finding their recipes and making new things is really enjoyable for me.
Years ago I bought a WW cook book and….well….YUK…it was so tasteless and boring.
Not so any longer. Every recipe I've tried from their website has been a hit.
Here is a picture of my apples soaking in their vinegar bath.
I leave them for 1-2 hours then rinse and polish them up.
Usually I eat one or two apples each day on my drive home from work. A little piece of old cheddar with it and I'm in heaven!…and it's only 2 points! (because of the cheese)
Fancy that...

Casey Jones you Better Watch your Speed
I've been going on and on and on for all of 2010 about wanting a dog but being afraid to commit to actually owning one of my very own. I tend to dogsit others then say goodbye after a few days. Each time I do this I really miss the presence of the little beast though.
I've been keeping an eye on my local animal rescue website and the other day I saw this little cutie that supposedly has been spayed and has shots up to date. They say he's trained and his only flaw is that he hates cats. I know lots of people that feel that way too!
Well we brought him home today and he acted a bit strange....and we acted a bit strange....
I gave him his food and water bowl and put some food in for him. He ate.
I showed him his new back yard. He peed.
Then I had to drive about 1.5 hours away and right back again. I decided to leave him in the house alone for the 3 or so hours I'd be gone. I was worried at what he might do but didn't want to stress him out with a long car ride. I have no idea how much he likes car rides. I don't have a crate to keep him in and hope I never own one.
I got home to a sweet little dog who took care of my place:))
I really hope this adoption goes well.
So..doggy's name is Buster.....we hate that name....what to call him???
Finally, tonight I came up with Casey....he really suits it I think.
Isn't he precious? (sorry for the shite shot....he wouldn't stay still and I need a tripod) excuses, excuses....

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
I feel it's time for some changes. I feel this quite often throughout the year. I seldom make any changes. Hoping this blog (seeing my thoughts) will help me with my lack of sticktoitiveness.
I like taking pictures and knitting. I like more things too but these take up all my spare time at the moment:)
